Slip and fall injury
A slip and fall accident occurs when someone trips over an object or obstacle that is in that person’s path but shouldn’t be there. The owner of the premises where the condition exists may be held liable for any injuries that arise out of a slip and fall accident, since the owner has the responsibility of keeping his or her premises safe. However, if the injured person didn’t watch where he was going or was in any other way partially responsible for the accident, damages may be reduced in proportion to the injured person’s level of fault. This is called comparative negligence.
